About Cindy

Cindy

Hi! I am Cynthia Ann Duszynski, a professional pianist, vocalist, private piano teacher, adjudicator and guest speaker. I currently teach private piano lessons out of my studio as well as piano lessons via Skype in several cities throughout the United States. I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Piano Pedagogy Degree from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Educating young minds in the study of music and teaching them to play the piano has been my passion since the age of 14. My private studio lessons involve: theory, technique, ear training, improvisation, composition, music history, teacher mentorship’s and an education in all eras and styles of music at the keyboard.

I hold a Permanent State and National Certification of Music from the Music Teachers National Association. (MTNA) As an active teacher in the music community, it is important that my students have accessibility to audition, competition and master class opportunities, therefore, I hold memberships with the following music organizations: Associated Piano Teachers, National Guild of Piano Teachers, Music Teachers National Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association- Greater Milwaukee Chapter, Wisconsin School of Music Association, National Federation of Music Clubs and the Milwaukee Music Teachers Association.

I have twice held the President and Vice President positions for the Wisconsin Music Teacher’s Association Greater Milwaukee Chapter and have board positions throughout the years, which have given me a greater understanding on how one should design high quality private music instruction.  I also adjudicate competitions throughout the United States, which, through those experiences has given my students the ability to prepare and implement strong musical ideas that judges are looking for in their auditions.

Many of my programs, workbooks, summer camps, and in-depth study guide books that I have written for my students are shared with other teachers through my extensive lecture topics. I find it a joy to express these ideas with other teachers in the field. In offering incentives that I have found helpful in my teaching career, educators who have attended these workshops/lectures throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan have grown and implemented many of these techniques into their own studios.

Music is an integral part of everyone’s life. My goal through educating at the keyboard is to better hear and understand why and what makes the music move you the way that it does and how YOU can help others experience those same emotions as a performer at the piano!
